When Should You Get a Spray Tan Before a Wedding in Venice or Sarasota, Florida?
If there is one spray tan appointment I do not want you guessing about, it’s your wedding tan.
Wedding week already has enough moving pieces. Your spray tan should be one of the easy things.
For most brides, I recommend getting your spray tan about two days before the wedding.
So if you’re getting married on Saturday, Thursday is usually my favorite day to spray you.
That gives your color time to fully develop, complete your first rinse and settle beautifully into the skin before wedding-day photos.
But your perfect timing can change depending on your rehearsal dinner, beauty appointments, whether you’ve had a spray tan before and which formula we’re using.
Here’s how I recommend planning it.
How Many Days Before Your Wedding Should You Get a Spray Tan?
For most of my brides, 1–2 days before the wedding is ideal.
I personally love the two-day window.
It gives us enough time for the tan to develop without having you walking around freshly sprayed the night before your wedding while everyone suddenly needs something from you.
Could you get sprayed the day before?
Absolutely.
Sometimes wedding schedules are wedding schedules and we work with what we have.
But if we have the choice, I like a little breathing room.
And one thing I would not recommend?
Trying your very first spray tan the morning of your wedding.
There are enough surprises allowed on a wedding day.
Your tan doesn’t need to be one of them.
What If I Want to Be Tan for the Rehearsal Dinner Too?
Then we plan around the whole wedding weekend, not just the ceremony.
If your rehearsal dinner is Friday and your wedding is Saturday, we may choose Wednesday or Thursday for your spray tan depending on the formula we’re using.
This is why I always want to know more than just your wedding date.
Are you doing a welcome party?
Rehearsal dinner?
Bridal brunch?
Photos beforehand?
Beach day with everyone coming into town?
Your tan should fit into your plans—not make you rearrange them.
Should You Get a Trial Spray Tan Before Your Wedding?
If you’ve never been sprayed by me before, I strongly recommend a trial.
Wedding week is not the time I want us figuring out whether you prefer a little warmth or make me look like I just came back from vacation.
A trial lets us see how your skin develops the color, how deep you personally like your tan and whether we want to make any adjustments before the actual wedding.
Ideally, I like doing a bridal trial a few weeks before the wedding.
Bonus points if we can line it up with something you were already getting ready for:
engagement photos
bridal shower
bachelorette weekend
dress fitting
another wedding or special event
That way you get to actually enjoy the trial glow too.
How Dark Should a Bridal Spray Tan Be?
This is probably one of the most important conversations I have with brides.
You do not automatically need to go darker because it’s your wedding.
Your dress, makeup, hair, natural coloring and photography are all part of the bigger picture.
I want you to have warmth, definition and gorgeous color—but I still want you to look like yourself.
I’ve been a licensed esthetician for more than 16 years, so my approach to spray tanning has always been very skin-first.
I’m looking at your natural tone, undertones and overall coloring before choosing your formula.
The goal is never:
“Wow, she got a spray tan.”
It’s:
“Her skin looks incredible.”
Especially on your wedding day.
Classic, Rapid or Clear: Which Spray Tan Is Best for a Bride?
There isn’t one bridal formula that is automatically best for everyone.
A lot of it comes down to your wedding-week schedule.
Classic Glow
Classic is great if you’re comfortable with a longer development time and have an evening where you can relax afterward.
Rapid Glow
Rapid gives you a shorter window before your first rinse, which can be really helpful during a packed wedding week.
Because somehow the week you planned down to the minute six months ago will still end up having 37 unexpected things added to it.
Clear Glow
Clear is my bronzer-free rapid option.
There’s no instant cosmetic bronzer sitting on the skin while your actual tan develops.
I especially love this for brides who want a really clean post-tan experience or have things happening after their appointment and don’t want to feel like they’re visibly wearing a fresh spray tan.
If you have no idea which one to choose, that is completely fine.
You don’t need to figure it out alone.
What Beauty Appointments Should Happen Before Your Spray Tan?
I like the spray tan to be one of the last beauty appointments involving your body before the wedding.
Anything that exfoliates, removes hair, soaks the skin or uses a lot of oil is generally better done beforehand.
That includes things like:
waxing
shaving
body scrubs
massages with oils
pedicures
certain body treatments
You don’t want to get beautifully sprayed on Thursday and then exfoliate your legs at a pedicure Friday morning.
If possible, get those appointments out of the way first and let your spray tan be one of the finishing touches.
What About Nails?
Ideally, I like manicures and pedicures done before your spray tan, especially if your appointment includes soaking, exfoliating or oils.
But wedding weeks are not always perfectly organized.
If your nail appointment has to happen afterward, just let your nail tech know you have a spray tan and ask them to be gentle around the surrounding skin.
Real-life schedules happen.
We adjust.
How Should You Prep for a Wedding Spray Tan?
The biggest thing I tell brides?
Do not suddenly reinvent your entire body-care routine three days before your wedding.
Wedding week is not the time for the new aggressive scrub you found on TikTok.
Follow your normal spray tan prep, complete hair removal beforehand, exfoliate appropriately and come to your appointment with clean skin without heavy lotion, oils or deodorant.

Your skin barrier still matters.
More exfoliating does not automatically mean a better tan.
When Should Bridesmaids Get Their Spray Tans?
Ideally, bridesmaids should follow a similar 1–2 day before the wedding timeline.
But everyone does not need the exact same formula or depth.
Your bridal party may have completely different skin tones, undertones and preferences.
One person may want just enough warmth to feel better in her dress.
Another is going to tell me, with zero hesitation, to make her dark.
Both are fine.
The goal is for everyone to look beautiful and cohesive in photos—not like I sprayed the entire bridal party with one identical bottle.
Can the Whole Bridal Party Get Spray Tanned Together?
Yes—and this is one of the reasons I love mobile spray tanning for weddings.
Instead of everyone trying to make separate appointments and drive around Venice or Sarasota during an already packed wedding week, I can come to one location.
A home, rental or another appropriate location can often work perfectly for a bridal-party spray night.
I bring my setup.

And afterward, nobody has to drive home freshly sprayed.

What If You’re Having a Destination Wedding in Venice or Sarasota?
If you’re traveling into Southwest Florida for your wedding, I recommend planning your spray tan before you arrive, rather than waiting until wedding week and trying to squeeze it in.
Think about:
Your arrival day.
Rehearsal dinner.
Beach and pool plans.
Hair and makeup appointments.
Nails.
Welcome events.
And when you actually need your tan looking its best.
And because this is Florida, we also have to acknowledge one very real wedding guest:
humidity.

A Simple Spray Tan Timeline for a Saturday Wedding
If you're getting married Saturday, your week could look something like this:
2–4 weeks before: Bridal spray tan trial
Earlier in wedding week: Waxing, shaving, exfoliation and body treatments
Before the spray tan: Manicure and pedicure when possible
Thursday: Wedding spray tan
Friday: Rehearsal dinner + final wedding prep
Saturday: Wedding day
Your exact schedule does not have to look exactly like this.
The point is simply to give your tan enough time to develop while avoiding appointments afterward that could interfere with your color.
